Music and dance March 4-10, 2021: Cairo, Alexandria – Music and dance – Al-Ahram Weekly


The cultural activities began to gradually reopen in the countryside. The reopening included theaters, museums, galleries, a national circus, which fall under the Ministry of Culture. In its first stage, the resumption of activities will be open to only 25% of the audience capacity in all places

Mon 8, 1 p.m .: To celebrate International Women’s Day, two of Cairo’s best musicians: Elena Grecchenko (piano) and Tsvetelina Kristeva (violin) will perform works written by composers living in different countries and at different times. The composers are united by talent, depth of musical thought and subtle lyricism. Most of the pieces on the program will be performed for the first time in Egypt. Among the major works of Giuseppe Verdi, this Cairo Opera production will see the participation of Dario Divietri (tenor), Pietro terranova (baritone), Carmine Colangeli (choirmaster), Erminia Kamel (choreographer) and Davide Dellisanti (vocal coach) (Arabic and English translation on stage).

Thursday 11, 8 p.m .: Celebration of the birth anniversary of singer-songwriter Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, Syrian singer Safwan Bahlawan performs the best of Abdel-Wahab in concert, conducted by the maestro Selim Sahab. The concert also includes the singer Maye Farouk.
