At 55, Grillo is still training hard to keep his body in top shape and appears to be at least a decade younger than his age. Any man over 40 would do well to follow his advice. Earlier this year, Grillo shared some of his ‘Boss Level’ training program with Men’s health, which includes everything from shadowboxing to barbell shrugs, explosive push-ups and plank work for your abs.
It’s that kind of dedication that also allows Grillo to jostle himself outside the gym: in 2021 alone, the actor has already more … than nine movies and tv shows already underway, and two other projects in production. Workouts alone, however, won’t keep Grillo ready for the camera. In a recent Instagram video, he shared some surprisingly helpful grooming tips that reveal how he also keeps his famous tousled hair.
In the clip, Grillo can be seen taking a break from a workout at the Churchill Boxing Club in Santa Monica to share one of his grooming secrets. “You want to make a medium hold dough, don’t you?” A little bit, like a dime, you don’t want to get precious with that, “he says, holding a jar of styling cream up to the camera. Then he runs his fingers through his hair, starting with the back. “You want to go up, back, and that’s it,” he said.
Grillo’s technique actually follows the advice of top styling and grooming experts. As master stylist Martial Vivot advised Men’s health, you still want to apply the product from back to front, rubbing it vigorously all the way down. “Don’t start from the front or the product could build up in the most visible part of your hair, which will look uneven and can even make your hair thinner than it actually is,” he said. he declares. Vivot also suggests applying the product to the roots of the hair, not just the tips, to better control their pose.
In a caption to the article, Grillo added that the specific product he uses is Paste by TheMensGroomer, but almost any medium hold product will do.
Grillo was joined in the clip by director, writer and conductor Eddie Huang, who took the opportunity to provide comedic relief. “What I like to do with that is if I don’t shave and groom myself properly … you never know who’s coming, and if you haven’t shaved …”, said he interrupting himself while pushing. a dollop of styling cream on the front of his pants (although we don’t necessarily approve of Huang’s technique, we give him points for his creativity.)
In the comments, Grillo’s famous friends were quick to respond, including Dwayne Johnson, who Grillo had previously instigated to promote his Hulu movie “Boss Mode” in dancing shirtless while promoting Johnson’s tequila. âI need it in my life ASAP, brother,â Johnson wrote. “I never thought I would see you do a hair tutorial,” actress Marisol Nichols wrote.
Hey, you can’t fault the man for displaying one of his best assets, especially at 55. As actor Kevin Dillon put it in the comments, “The best hair in Hollywood!”
