Fall classes, workshops and camps at the Cornerstone Center of the Arts – Muncie Journal

Muncie, IN — As Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist. The key is how to remain an artist once they have grown up. Embrace and hone your creativity in classes, camps and workshops at the Cornerstone Center for the Arts Education. Cornerstone will be offering classes for the whole family this fall. The twelve week fall courses begin the week of September 9 and run through the week of December 2. Various punctuals workshops and camps will also be offered throughout the fall. Registrations are now open for courses for young people and adults in visual arts, Dance, theater, music, Martial Arts, aptitude, and more.

Cornerstone Youth Classes start at age 1 and continue through high school. Dance classes offered this fall include: Beginner & Intermediate / Advanced Performance Group; Hip-hop for boys aged 5 to 9; Hip-hop for boys aged 10 to 14; Contemporary & Jazz; Creative movement; Premier Ballet I, II, and III; Early Hip Hop Jazz I and II; Type early I & II; Lyrical & Modern I & II; Swing; Youth ballet; Youth tap; and Youth hip-hop. Students interested in theater are invited to register Acting 101 & 102; Old musical theater; and Youth Musical Theater. Visual arts students will appreciate: Animal drawing; Ceramic; Creative drawing I & II; Youth manga and cartoon drawing; Family ceramics; Fundamentals of art; Preschool art; Slime making 6-13 years; Urban and street arts; and Watercolor. corner stone Martial Arts The program is perfect for students looking to learn self defense while having fun. Finally, our brand new youth courses offered this fall include: All things fairy; Early elementary art; Music for Munchkins; and Stop Motion animation for 8-11 year olds & 12-15.

For teens and adults of all ages, Cornerstone will offer a variety of weekly classes. For students interested in dance and movement, consider: Ballet I Non-performance; Ballet I Performance; Ballet II; Ballroom; Start belly dancing; Faucet; Contemporary; Swing & Salsa; Bollywood; Irish dance level I , II, & III; Hip hop; Adolescents and adults seeking health and wellness will appreciate: Basic yoga and Basic yoga. This fall’s visual arts classes are Acrylic paint; Adult Ceramics; Urban and street arts; Mixed media arts; Fluid art; The basics of watercolor; Advanced watercolor; Adult painting; Manga & Comics; Creative drawing; and Old farm. Students aged 16 to adults will enjoy the Cornerstone’s challenge USA Combat Jujitsu for newbies and returning students. Our brand new courses for teens and adults offered this fall include: Advanced sword for belly dancers; Bellydance Sirocco student troupe; Draw after life; Hip Hop Dance Aerobics; Engraving; and Saidi Cane Dancing for belly dancers

Cornerstone also offers one-to-one lessons throughout the year in the areas of low, bass guitar, cello, drums, guitar, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, ukulele, alto, violin, and voice. Private lessons meet once a week one-on-one with an instructor. The availability of private lessons depends on the instructor’s schedule.

corner stone Fall Vacation Art Camp will meet from October 7-9 to introduce students aged 7 to 13 to visual arts, dance, drama, music, martial arts and more.

Featured offers financial aid scholarships to eligible youth and adults. Financial aid applications are available online or in person at the Cornerstone second floor office.
