Exercise courses | Fitness and leisure


Scheduled classes are considered drop-in classes with no prior registration required, unless otherwise specified. However, the number of places available is limited and attendance is on a first come, first served basis. Many classes fill up quickly, so get there early! For our most popular classes, armbands or tampons can be used.

Description of classes

Belly dance: Belly dancing is a fun, low impact way to connect with your body, while learning about Middle Eastern culture and music. This class is open to all skill levels (although it is still always friendly for introduction), all genders, all sizes, and all ages.

Cardio bar: This is a ballet-inspired workout combining yoga, pilates and strength with a touch of music and upbeat tempo. Expect to use a chair at home and feel the burn during this workout!

Cardio interval: For anyone looking for the best class in cardio, strength and power. Your instructor will help you burn more calories, build muscle, and challenge your fitness level.

Chair yoga: This class is perfect for all levels of fitness. It is a soft based yoga that is done on a chair. This will be beneficial for participants with reduced mobility.

Deep waters: If you like aqua aerobics but want to go a little further, this class is for you. You will find yourself at the bottom of the pool to work on swimming and endurance exercises while sculpting beautiful swimming muscles!

Floating Yoga: A beginner-friendly yoga class that will help you get familiar with setting up your mat in the water and feeling comfortable in the water. This class also provides modifications for stability for all levels. This class is designed to be exciting and fun.

HIIT: HIIT workouts are short periods of energy and effort that allow us to burn calories and fat, and build muscle quickly and efficiently.

Meditation: Need help calming and centering your mind? Try meditation! This class takes meditation step by step so that everyone (beginners or well-practiced yogis) can release the serenity within. Perfect for students to learn some form of self-care!

Meditation in motion: Classes for all levels focused on stress relief and mind / body centering.

Pilates: Developed by Joseph Pilates, emphasizes balance through core strength, flexibility and body awareness. This exercise was used by dancers to build long, lean muscles. All levels of fitness are welcome.

Pioneer pump: A full body exercise of medium to high intensity. Interval training with active recovery periods. Done in circuit, this class will make your heart beat faster and is ideal for weight loss and toning.

Pop Pilates: Pilates to a new level with popular music and full body burning exercises tailored to the tunes! Come and discover this mat course that will put your endurance to the test!

Restorative yoga: Provides healing for body and soul. It is especially useful when you need to eliminate fatigue and stress resulting from your daily activities. Many restorative yoga poses are similar to normal yoga poses except that they are performed using props. Low intensity for all.

Soca’s poverty workshop: Training of all levels where we will vibrate to the sound of Caribbean music and sweat with dancehall and West African dance.

Strength: In this class, we will use our body weight and resistance training to strengthen our muscles and improve our strength and endurance.

Tight and toned: This class is designed to tone you up! Complete toning exercises will tighten your body in no time!

Water works: Exercising in water provides aerobic and strength conditioning at the same time. A low impact alternative. In the shallow end of the Pioneer Hall indoor pool. All levels of fitness are welcome.

Yoga: This class takes place seamlessly through yoga postures to incorporate vinyasa techniques and create heat in the body. Come and find out what your body can do.

Zumba : A fusion of Latin and international music and dance themes that creates dynamic workouts. Routines include aerobic / fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Easy to follow dance moves. All levels of fitness are welcome!
